Fred sat beside her and rested his head on hers. He laughed at her comment. “I think they’ve kinda seen it coming though.” It wasn’t a secret that Maia and Fred was close. He had often heard people whisper if they were finally together, or how perfect they would be together. He had usually ignored it and thought he didn’t stand a chance anyway. Not compared to the Quidditch boys anyway. He kissed her temple and sighed. “I hate to be a buzzkill and all, but I’m supertired.” He smiled and looked at her with wrinkled nose, feeling kinda bad for having to leave her now. He didn’t really want to, but you know… that’s how reality works.
She grins, closing her eyes, “I think everyone’s seen it coming..” she replies honestly, again kicking herself for getting distracted by boys she shouldn’t have wasted her time with. Maia had been on the receiving end of the teasing about ‘when they were going to get together’ and all of that, but she figured it was just mindless teasing, she never thought he saw her this way. If she had known any earlier… her train of thought decided to leave her when his lips met her temple, chuckling sadly at his words. “Me too.” she turned her head to face him, biting her lip before giving him a kiss and getting up, pulling him up with her. She realized how hard it would be to not kiss him all of the time now, and she grinned again. “I’ll see you tomorrow, then.” she said, wanting to begin to walk away, but not having the heart to just yet.

When they reached the Fat Lady he grinned at what the painted lady was saying. He had gotten comments from her before, it was as if she had a 6th sense of these things or something. He walked into the commonroom still holding Maia’s hand in his. He could feel a few people staring at them, but he really didn’t care right now. He smiled softly and kissed her back. “Mhm, me too.” he chuckled and kissed her again. He was relieved he had finally had the guts to tell her. And he felt as though nothing could go wrong right now, cheesy as it might sound. ~
Maia was at a loss for what else to do other than just grin like an idiot. She was sure to get so much grief tomorrow during Quidditch practice, but at the moment she felt like she couldn’t care less. She wondered how long it would have taken for her to admit she had feelings for him had he not told her about his own feelings. She supposed it wouldn’t have been very long, considering he can read her like this morning’s Prophet. She pulled him to one of the couches by the fire, ignoring the smirks from the people there. Her head rested easily on his shoulder as her hand still held his, “You know,” she smirks “Your fanclub will not be very happy about this.” she laughs softly.

Fred chuckled and nodded in agreement. He knew how Lily could get. “I’d say detention would have been worth it though, but that’s just me.” He glanced over at her as they started to walk, still holding her hand in his. He pushed open the entrance door. The hall was almost empty, except from a few other student who had been late from Hogsmeade, or been to the kitchen and was now hurrying back to their commonrooms. “I think we better hurry.” He said with a grin and pulled her with him up the stairs.
She grinned at his response “True.. but still.” she squeezed his hand slightly, suddenly realizing she was going to get to do this all the time now, it made her feel incredibly light. She was about to say something before he pulled her towards the stairs, and she laughed outright, running up until they reached the portrait of the Fat Lady. The painted woman looked between the two and smirked, muttering “Finally..” under her breath. Maia flushed and muttered the password, pretending to ignore what the painting had said despite her grin. As soon as they were both inside, she turned to give him a kiss, not bothering to see who else was in the common room. “I like this.” she says simply.

Fred smiled and took her hand giving it a little squeeze. He still couldn’t really believe he had finally done it. He mentally gave himself a pat on the shoulder for it. He licked his lips and looked at Maia, chuckling with her, not really knowing what to say. which was odd for them, seeing as they usually couldn’t shut up when they were together. “What happens next?” He said after a while, nibbling on his lower lip, still holding her hand in his.
Being nervous, let alone quiet, around each other was something completely new to them. Maia realized Fred had turned the question back to her, and she gulped, looking at their clasped hands.”I—” she began, only to be stopped by her own laughter—again. She told herself to calm down, and began again. “Well, first, we should return to the castle. I don’t want to deal with Lily’s wrath.” she grinned up at him and added hesitantly, “Besides, I don’t want today to be ruined by detention~”
